A Settlement has been reached in the case Deborah Robin v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, Case No. 24-391-SDD-RLB, United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana (the “Action”), entitling eligible Settlement Class Members who submit a valid and timely Claim Form to payment of Purchasing Fees (“Purchasing Fees”) for Covered Total Loss Claims. This Settlement website explains: 1) the terms of the Settlement; 2) who is a member of the Settlement Class; 3) how to submit a Claim Form for payment; 4) how to request exclusion from the Settlement; 5) how to object to the Settlement; and 6) how to get more information about the Settlement.
"Purchasing Fees" means (i) sales tax; and (ii) title fees (including transfer handling fees), notary fees, registration and license plate transfer fees, and tag fees.
Plaintiff alleges that State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (“State Farm” or “Defendant”) breached its insurance policies by failing to pay Plaintiff and other Louisiana insureds who submitted physical damage claims for their vehicles during the class period, May 17, 2022 through May 21, 2026 (“Applicable Class Period”), and which resulted in a total loss claim payment, the full payout recovery for Purchasing Fees. State Farm maintains that it complied with the terms of the insurance policies and applicable law, has numerous merits and class defenses, and denies that it acted wrongfully or unlawfully and continues to deny all material allegations.
State Farm shall pay Settlement Class Members $28.39 in satisfaction of applicable Purchasing Fees to eligible Settlement Class Members who timely submit a valid claim. The Court will hear objections, determine if the Settlement is fair, and consider Class Counsel’s request for Attorney’s Fees and Costs of up to $205,000, and a Service Award of $5,000 to the Class Representative. These payments will not reduce the amount of money available to Settlement Class Members as they will be paid separately by State Farm.

| EXCLUDE YOURSELF FROM THE SETTLEMENT | You have the right to not be part of the Settlement by excluding yourself or “opting out” of the Settlement Class. You do not need to hire your own lawyer to request exclusion from the Settlement Class.
